Nomad Lifestyle Is Dead in 2023!

Nomad Lifestyle Is Dead in 2023!

Posted on: 29 July 2024

Imagine these two scenarios, City 1 and City 2:

-City 1 is a nomadic City that is in a third-world country. It has Insta worth beach shots and a dreamlike atmosphere. This city is very far from your family & friends but is literally the dream life for a quarter of the price.

You go there in 2023 to find out that prices have been jacked up, since it's an amateur economy with no stability or government regulation, and the real estate agents started to take advantage of the market charging you almost 50% more than what you expected. You take the deal because you are still "saving money" & "living your best life".

You then start to have small issues with the services. You face some challenges setting up the business or visa because the government of that country doesn't have digital infrastructure to speed things up. You get low quality services from the locals as well because the nomads are jacking up the prices and the locals are struggling so they are annoyed at you!

A year later, you realize that you saved a bit of money but lost insane amounts of opportunities by being 10 hours away from a major metropolitan city.........But you are happy because you are a cool "Nomad" wearing sandals and shorts making $1000 a month from your laptop.

-City 2 is in a top performing country full of ambitious people that are creating, collaborating, gaining skills and growing. The city has a bursting startup scene and lots of the top companies. You probably can't have a full time "laptop job" on the beach and you have to live in a smaller apartment. However, you have the chance in a couple of years to gain enough skills and knowledge to be financially set for life.

So you go to City 2 in 2023 and after a year you realize that you actually made much more money without trying to "save". And learned enough information that can help you start a business that can make you a millionaire in the next 10 years.

So here is what I am saying:

If you want to travel, do it for experiences. But don't lie to yourself that you will save money and fix all your problems.

Go to where the action is and invest in your future. And continuously try to solve your problems. This is how you grow.
